1. Do routine physical activities that increases the heart rate and works up sweat.
-Slows down the loss of muscle mass.
2. Walk with your pelvis out and shoulder back to make you look and feel younger.
-Muscles that support the upper body weaken .
3. Work on stretching upword to restore your ability to reach something high in the
cupboard.
4. Keep a sense of humour
5. Stay away from fast food and enjoy the taste of home cooked food.
6. Do regular balance specific exercises like standing on one leg, or closing your eyes and turning in a
circle and stop at the exact place you started.
-Our balance deteriorated
7. Keep socializing
-Keep your social skills sharp to make you better at communicating with others.
8. Put together a 10 minute strech routine and do it every eveving before going to bed.
9. Learn something new every few months. This forces your brain to make new pathways, maintaining or
even increasing your mental sharpness.
10. Don't buy into myth that getting older makes you useless. It will lead to depression. Volunteers to
help out in the community. Be visible, so that everyone knows that you are a valuable member of the
community.
