No harm in being nice.... Even if you are having a bad day, don't ruin it for others.

This is one of the article from 'The Bangsar Boy' section  in the Star newspaper in July 2011. In this article he told about his experience in encountering with a not so pleasant situation when he volunteered to man the reception counter at his cousin's wedding. Getting shout at is one of  the shocking moment  that he had faced even though he was part of the host at the wedding reception.

Further on he discussed how those in the service related occupations often had to face those situations with people they hardly know. It is a pity that we, as Malaysians have that kind of attitude without even consider that certain situations are beyond their control. For example, during a visit to the doctor, the doctor's assistant could not  let you in early because the doctor had to attend an  emergency case at that time. As a result the appointment  time will have to be shifted later. Even if you demanded to see the doctor early, there was actually nothing the assistant could do except that asked you to be patient and wait for the doctoe to come.

Of course, if we face the same situation, we would get frustrated. Our time would be wasted and we tend to get tired and agitated easily. However when we stop and paused to think , we would then realize our actions are actually making other people frustrated and angry too. At some instances, we might even be creating a chain of reactions of frust and agitated people  that we do not even know. Therefore we are the ones who actually ruin the mood of several people for that day.

Therefore before you even begin to voice out your displeasure to someone take a deep breath and pause and think for a while. Would it ruin  only that person's day or would it  create a chain reaction of ruining the mood of several people after that.
